Mother Mary E. Stringfield


Mother Mary E. Stringfield was born in Columbus, GA on March 20, 1946 to Charlie Ben and Nettie Bell (Williams) Gooden. She is the middle child of nine children. She was exposed to the Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostal, and Catholic faith through associations and relationships. Her parents were members of Nichols Chapel AME Zion which she joined at the age of eleven. She attended Mother Mary Mission Catholic School in Phenix City, Alabama. Later at the age of twelve, she received a scholarship to an all girls Catholic Preparatory High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to study for a life given unto God as a nun. She chose not to move because her mother became ill and she wanted to be at home for her mother.

Mother Stringfield is a graduate of Linden High School in Linden, New Jersey. She attended Tuskegee Institute where she majored in Mechanical Engineering.

Mother Mary Stringfield was married on August 28, 1964 to Robert Louis Stringfield. They are the parents of six children; two are deceased. They have five lovely grandchildren.

Mother Stringfield moved to Heidelberg, Germany on July 28, 1978 and fellowshipped with Patton Christian Fellowship. She later moved to Giessen, Germany in 1982 where she was born in Church of God In Christ under Elder John Moore in 1983. Mother Stringfield acknowledged her call to the ministry in August of 1984. She has served on the Usher Board, Hospitality Committee, President of YWCC, President of Prayer and Bible Band, President of Sunshine Band on the Local, District and State level, District President of Missionary Circle, Church Mother, District President of the Mother’s Board, District Evangelist, Jurisdictional Sunday School Field Representative and as District IV Missionary from June 1987 through April 1992. She, also, served as the Layleader of Giessen Gospel COGIC during the period that the Pastor and Assistant Pastor were sent on a mission to Saudi Arabia for combat duty during Desert Storm from January 1990 to April 1990.

Mother Stringfield has written several seminars, ‘Who I Am’, ‘The Three Tiers of Love’, ‘Personal Financial Management’ and many others. She was instrumental in establishing the first ‘Germany Jurisdictional Bible Bowl’ as Sunday School Field Representative with the approval of Mother Stella M. Watson, Elder Paul L. Watson, and Bishop Carlis Moody, Sr.  

Mother Stringfield was appointed the District IV Missionary in the Germany Jurisdiction on August 2004 by Mother Stella Watson, Supervisor of the ‘Department of Women (DOW)’and Bishop Carlis Moody, Sr., Jurisdictional Prelate. Mother Stringfield, also, serves as the Jurisdictional Marshall, Corresponding Secretary, Credential Holder Secretary, and Assistant Finance Expeditor.

Mother Stringfield is rooted in the Word of God and has been extolled for her teaching abilities and her deliverance of God’s Word. The Holy Ghost is her enabler. She stands on the promises of God and is not shaken by circumstances or adverse situations. She holds fast to the scripture that the Lord spoke to her from His Word, Joshua 1:9, “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
